Watch: Extensive Rescue Operation Underway at Louisville, KY, Demolition Site
Nov. 15, 2024
Louisville firefighters, medics and rescue technicians are working to free a man trapped at a construction site.
After the worker fell about 10-15 feet into a void, he was buried with debris and dirt.
Seven hours into the operation, Fire Chief Brian O'Neill told WLKY that the rescue was a "very slow process" because of how easily the debris can shift around.
The former community correctional center there is being demolished to make way for the future site of a park that will feature native plants, seating areas and space for food trucks.
